Overview

This guide explains how to create and customize a QR Label Template for BASSnet using Microsoft Word. It includes steps to edit the existing template, update the configuration in BASSnet, and verify the output.

Goal

To customize the QR Label Template used in BASSnet for printing material labels, ensuring it includes all necessary fields and displays correctly. Example as below:

Steps

Open the Existing Template with Microsoft Word

  1. Navigate to your BASSnet 2.11 SP3 - Reports file path.
  2. Locate and open the mat_label_54x100_qr.doc file.
  1. The file will open in Microsoft Word.
  1. Edit the file as necessary following the steps in the next section.

 

Edit the Template in Microsoft Word

Note: Fields with << >> are mail merge fields. Do not change their values.

  1. To add a new row, right-click the last row and select Insert → Insert Below.
  1. Enter the new field name in the left column (e.g., Category ID).
  2. Copy the previous Description and paste it into the new row.
  1. Right-click the copied Description and select Edit Field.
  2. In the Edit Field screen, change the Field Name to the relevant field (e.g., CATEGORY_ID).
  1. Click OK.

Important Note!

Only the following data fields can be added into the QR Label:

  1. Make any other necessary changes to the template (e.g., layout or page size).
  2. Save the file (Save As) under a different name in the same folder.

Update BASSnet Config Setting

  1. In BASSnet, open Settings → Global Settings (Password required).
  1. Search for the MAINT0025 configuration.
  2. Change the Primary Value to the file name of the updated QR Template, then click Save.
  1. Restart BASSnet.

Verify the Output

  1. Open a Materials screen and click Print QR Label.
  2. Verify that the changes are displaying correctly.
